A Foundational Course in Ayurvedic Cooking

Learn the foundational principles and elements of Ayurvedic cooking.

This in-depth course will teach you how to nourish your body with intention and how to prepare balanced meals for yourself and others.

It includes
practical application on a day-to-day basis, recipe guidance, lifestyle integration, community support, live sessions and detailed materials.

Across six comprehensive modules, you will be guided through the foundations of Ayurvedic nutrition, food preparation and eating habits.

Each module builds on the previous one, allowing you to learn not only how to plan and prepare Ayurvedic meals but also how to support and nourish your body more deeply.

You will learn how to apply Ayurvedic principles and gain understanding on how to prepare balanced meals and adapting dishes to suit your individual needs. You will understand how to use food as medicine, creating balance and vitality in your life through food.

Meet the teacher
Alena Ringelmann

Certified Ayurvedic Health Advisor and Ayurvedic chef.

Studying Ayuveda since 2016.

Over the past five years, I’ve cooked at more than 50 retreats across Europe, taking on a wide range of roles, from kitchen apprentice to leader, and thriving in solo gigs that challenged me to wear many hats.

Each experience taught me not just how to run a kitchen, but how to create nourishing meals that truly support people’s wellbeing.

After every retreat, participants would ask me about my recipes, eager to take home as much inspiration as they could. What they didn’t realize is that Ayurvedic cooking is so much more than following recipes.

Through this course, I hope to inspire you to rethink your approach to cooking and eating, to spark joy, and to see food as medicine.

"Alena cooked for my group in August 2025 and did a beautiful job. It was particularly commendable as the location was quite challenging. She was able to innovate and shift to a difficult environment, still resulting in beautiful nourishing meals in a timely manner. It was an excellent outcome."

FAQ

I am not following a vegetarian diet, is this course for me?

Yes, absolutely. You will learn about how to combine and prepare food for optimal health and if you eat meat and fish, this is absolutely fine. While the recipes provided will be vegetarian, you can adapt them accordingly. The key is to learn the principles and understand the qualities of each ingredient in order to prepare balanced meals for yourself and others.

Do I need to have prior experience with Ayurveda or cooking?

Whether you're just starting your journey with Ayurveda and cooking or looking to deepen your knowledge, this course is created to meet you where you are.

Do I need to have special equipment?

Absolutely not. While traveling and adapting to new kitchens all the time, I have learnt to work with very little. If you have a stovetop, a couple of pots with lid, a cutting board and a knife, as well as some bowls and cooking spoons, you are good to go. Additional items can be great, but not necessary. It is absolutely possible to create nourishing, wholesome meals even while camping. We will speak about equipment, tips and tricks throughout the course.

Is this suitable for someone whose family is not into Ayurveda or healthy eating?

With kids it's mostly about getting them curious and involving into the food preparation process. Once you take the pressure off and let them try, they will appreciate some of the healthier alternatives. With adults, it's their responsibility. You can offer alternatives, but it's not up to you to change their habits. Once they start feeling the difference in their body, they will appreciate it more. And don't forget to take one step at a time... :-)

I would love to join but can't make it to the live classes. Will you offer another round in the future?

This is the only cohort where I’ll be teaching it live. In future, it will be offered as a self-paced experience.

However, the live sessions are recorded, and many participants prefer to work with them in their own time. You will still have access to me for guidance and questions as you integrate the material. If depth and 1:1 support matter to you, this is the round to join.
